She might be (is probably?) a rifter who hit the ground running. After her arrival in Riftwatch, she could immediately be sighted in the library, surrounded at all times by at least three books and one ever-growing sheaf of paper for her own notes. Her addresses on crystal have been a bit long-winded, but genuine and with Riftwatch-relevant purpose. As Quartermaster, she's in charge of getting people what they need and managing rooming assignments. It's early days to say what her reputation may be, or what could be public knowledge beyond that.

• Ness is very interested in the history of Thedas in general, and the thoughts and opinions of its common folk in specific. She would happily sit with a native and hear their life story, so long as they didn't mind her taking notes while they talked. Her ultimate goal is complete assimilation, so she wants to be able to hold opinions that make sense for whoever she ends up purporting to be.
• Prior to waking up in Thedas, she was abducted by mindflayers, and though she ended up avoiding a tadpole, her contact with the parasite's brine gave her magic she hasn't yet been entirely able to control—magic that can look remarkably like blood magic, if one doesn't know better.
• Spend a lot of time in the library? So does Ness! Like a lot a lot. During her off hours, she can be found there more often than she can be found in her own room.
